UNOBTRUSIVE WEDDING FILMS

Having been a documentary wedding photographer for over ten years (you can find my photography website here), I came to the realisation that there doesn’t seem to be much out there in the way of documentary wedding videography… I mean there are heaps of great wedding film makers out there, but what if you are a couple that don’t want to disappear for ages while your mates are having all the fun with the beer and canapés. Or you don’t want tripods everywhere or camera gimbals in front of you all day or uncomfortable microphone setups attached to you all day… What if you want someone that looks like a guest, behaves like a guest and just blends into the day, because when people aren’t conscious of the camera they act differently (and thats how you get the good stuff)…

If thats you, you’ve come to the right place, and you are my people..

I won’t ask you to smile at the camera, to look off wistfully into the distance or to do anything just for the camera

Its just not how we roll..

FAQ’s

HOW DO WE BOOK YOU?

Head over to my contact page, fill in a few detail, throw the £400 deposit at me and Roberts your uncle, its as easy as that.

HOW LONG DO YOU STAY FOR?

As a general rule I’ll arrive up to two hours before your ceremony and I’ll stick around until half an hour or so after first dance. Don’t worry though, if your timings go sideways (they often do) I won’t head for the exit unless I know I’ve got what I need. And if you know you will need me later or earlier that can also be arranged.

WHATS YOUR FAVOURITE CHEESE?

It has to be a nice over-ripe Cambozola, closely followed by a baked Camembert and then a creamy aged Stilton. To be honest though, any cheese is good cheese.

WHAT MUSIC CAN WE USE?

I have a whole bank of music that you can choose from which is fully licensed, so you can share your videos far and wide without the worry of Mark Zuckerberg sliding into your DM’s because the Arctic Monkeys saw your highlights film on Facebook and have told him that they didn’t give you permission to use their song. You might have noticed that I prefer to use music that I feel fits the mood of your wedding as opposed to traditional plinky-plonky wedding music, what I finds usually works is that I choose what I think will fit and if you don’t like it and want to change it, thats no biggie.

HOW DO WE SEE OUR FILM?

Once your film is ready it will be delivered via an online gallery, from there you can watch and download them until your heart is content. But my favourite thing is that if you have a smart TV or Apple TV, Firestick etc, you can download an app and stream it wherever you like (that blew my mind a little bit when I found that out).

WHEN WILL OUR FILM BE READY?

My turnaround time is usually around four weeks, occasionally it can be a week or two longer at the height of summer, but I will always keep you in the loop and let you know.

CATS OR DOGS?

Dogs… Even if Ginny, our family hound is a massive idiot sometimes.

HOW FAR DO YOU TRAVEL?

I love to travel, so nowhere is out of bounds for a wedding. Travel costs are included for mainland UK weddings, so if I have to get on a boat or a plane then my travel cost will need to be covered. My passport and speedo’s are always ready though.

WHAT DO YOU WEAR WHEN YOU ARE SHOOTING A WEDDING?

My aim is always to blend in like a guest, so thats how I dress. If I look like a guest and behave like one too, people won’t even notice me with my camera.

DO YOU WORK WITH PHOTOGRAPHERS?

Of course, the way that I shoot is very discreet and easy going, so I’m not going to get in anyones way, and after over a decade of photographing weddings myself I know exactly what to do and what not to do.

ARE YOU INSURED?

Quite literally for millions and millions, I have the full house of liability, indemnity and equipment, so everything is covered.

DO YOU HAVE BACK-UP EQUIPMENT?

Although I will spend most of the day with just one camera in my hand, don’t be fooled into thinking thats all I carry.. The inside of my camera bag looks a little like Jessops, I always have a second camera which is used for the ceremony and speeches and I always have an additional spare in my bag at all times, as well as a raft of lenses and enough batteries and memory cards to film the third season of The Traitors.
